Battle Flag, Second Manassas, 1862, is the third in Bernard Cornwell's series featuring rogue and brilliant soldier Nate Starbuck fighting for the South in the American Civil War. This is another of Mr. Cornwell's excellent historical adventure series. Starbuck must survive the emnity of his commanding officer and the bloodletting of the Second Battle of Manassas.

As with all of Cornwall's books, the historical detail is accurate and well researched. His characters leap off the pages, in most cases the characters really lived and the reader is transported back into history. There are now four in this series, Cornwell has stated that he might write more, one can only hope.
