Blond Faith
|
Walter Mosley returns with Blond Faith, the eleventh in the
brilliant series featuring black PI Easy Rawlins. The books begin after WW11
in Los Angeles and now encompass twenty years of Rawlins's life. These novels
have always worked as outstanding crime noir as well as important social communtary.
I have often said that Mosley's books should be required reading in American
high schools, our students might actually learn something about race relations
and social change.
Rawlins returns home to find Christmas Black's daughter part of his household.
He is also hired to find Mouse who is missing and being hunted by LA Police.
Rawlins is also depressed over his inability to forgive the love of his life
and now is involved with finding the two most dangerous men he has ever known.
His trek through the dark sides of LA life leads to a very dark and disturbing
ending to this book. Mosley has also written at least fifteen other books(another
crime series featuring Fearless Jones is also great) and has beome one of America's
finest authors.
