Heretic, by Bernard Cornwell, is the third and final novel in his Grail Quest series featuring Thomas, a trained archer, soldier and leader of a small band of soldiers fighting for the British against the French during the Hundred Years War. Thomas's Father, a Priest, was thought to possess The Holy Grail and Thomas must fight against radical mercenaries and renegade Priests in a race to find the Grail before the forces of evil.

Heretic is only one of over forty historical adventure novels written by Mr. Cornwell. The Grail Quest books are just one of five different series written by Cornwell, all are brilliant, with amazing historical accuracy, great characters, many who really lived and detailed fast paced plotting. If you have not read Cornwell, The Grail series is a great place to start.
