Rubicon
|
In Rubicon, Lawrence Alexander has mastered the formula for
a successful novel. Rubicon, is a political thriller with undertones
of conspiracy theory. Senator Bobby Hart (D) Calif. receives a message from
a friend that there's an assassination plan afoot. On a trip Europe to find
out who's targeted Hart is wounded and the man delivering more information is
killed. Hart returns to America, knowing only of the plots name, Rubicon,
and that there will be assassination attempts. Rubicon is fast
paced and plausible. It works as a thriller. Some might find the delivery of
its message a little heavy handed but how often does one get a lesson in politics,
constitutional theory and Roman history and still get a fast, fun read?
