Mr. Cornwell is one of the most accomplished fiction authors working today and he is the master of the historical adventure novel. He is the author of several series, the most famous being the Richard Sharpe novels featuring a British soldier fighting against Napolean's forces. Another is a trilogy featuring British archers in the 100 Years War.
He returns to this time period with Agincourt, the famous British victory against The French in 1415, featuring British archers fighting against a much larger French force that was immortalized by Shakespeare in Henry V. As always his historical detail in amazing, his characters are written into the real history, many were actually present, his plotting breathtaking. If anyone has not tried Cornwell, Agincourt is a rare stand alone from the master and a great place for the reader to discover one of writing's most brilliant talents.
