Michael Connelly returns with, The Brass Verdict, the second in his new series featuring LA defense attorney Mickey Haller. When a former collague is murdered Haller inherits his biggest case ever, a famous Hollywood film producer who is accused of murdering his wife and her lover and Haller may be the killer's next victim. In addition, the detective investigating the lawyer's murder is Harry Bosch.

As always, Connelly's narrative is brilliant, informative, relevant and to the point. He is actually able to make a defense attorney's case preparation facinating. There is a dinner scene between Haller and his client, as Haller asks for the whole truth, that demands immediate re-reading. There is also the interplay between Haller and Bosch that ends with a very cool surprise for all fans of the great Harry Bosch. I have said this many times, Mr. Connelly's novels are a perfect example of the crime novel as today's modern literature. The Brass Verdict is a must read.
