Flipping Out

Marshall Karp returns with his third crime novel featuring LA Homicide detectives
Mike Lomax and Terry Biggs. The wife of one of their detective buddies is executed
in her garage starting a major manhunt that leads to many other killings and
an investigation into a real estate company and an illegal body parts theft
ring.
Karp has a smooth narrative and the book is fast, funny and dark. The characters
are drawn in nice detail, the plot moves along and despite the gruesome murders,
Karp manages to make the book highly entertaining. This is another fine example
of the American procedural.
