Hater, by David Moody, has become a cult hit as the novel has already been optioned for a film by Guillermo Del Toro. Ordinary people become deadly violent, attacking family or strangers for no apparent reason. Paranoia runs rampant, will you be killed or become a killer, no one is safe, society begins to crumble.
Danny McCoyne is an ordinary guy, he has problems with his family and hates
his job and the tale is told through his eyes.
Haters, as the killers are called, spread quickly all over the world, the book's
plot begins to resemble films such as 28 days Later. Through McCoyne we follow
a truly scary scenario and Moody's plotting is first rate and like a roller
coaster ride and the ending of the book sets up two more novels. This is one
of the most original horror novels I have read in recent years and any fan of
the genre will love this book.
