Battle is the twelph in the brilliant series written by Mr. Cornwell featuring his great hero Richard Sharpe. There are currently twenty one in the series, sixteen have been made into BBC America movies that have made Sean Bean a mega star. Sharpe starts as an illiterate private and rises to honored officer in the British Army as they fight against the French in the early 19th century.
Sharpe's Battle covers the Battle of Fuentes De Onoro, Portugal, May 1811. This was a huge battle, a loss would have sent the English back accross the English Channel, as Arthur Weasley did not have the full support of the government as was not yet made into Lord Wellington. The details of the British victory are fascinating and led directly to the English forces staying the course. Battle is only one of over forty novels by Mr. Cornwell, start reading him now.
