Anthony Gagliano has written a fine, funny, hardboiled, first crime novel with excellent Florida ambiance. Jack Vaughn, former police officer, tough guy and personal trainer to Miami's gold coast is hired by his ex-girlfriend's father to sink a yacht with a dead body aboard. But Jack, of course, has been set up. He ends up on the run, dealing with double crosses, a killer, porn, beautiful girls and drugs. Gagliano makes the plot work, the story moves along without breaks for chapters and Vaughn is an excellent lead character. I look forward to Gagliano next book. Again this is a first book, collectors take note.
